OWLs Post for June

The OWL’s had a great time on the year’s first Road Trip in May with a visit to Taliesin and Wilson Creek Pottery near Spring Green, Wisconsin. Twenty intrepid travelers enjoyed a day of great weather, good food and fellowship on our day long trip. See included photos. If you have not been on one of our trips we would love to have you join the group in June.

With one exciting road trip under our belt the OWL’s are clamoring for another adventure. With warm temperatures and sunshine it’s time to play like the kids again. What better way to accomplish this than a trip to the Circus. After prerequisite stops for nature and coffee we will arrive in Baraboo, Wisconsin for a visit to the Circus World Museum. While there we will experience a Big Top Show, enjoy a scrumptious lunch, get a tour of the world famous Circus Wagons, and a Historic Ringlingville Tour. The museum was the winter home of Ringling Brothers Circus around 1900. The museum grounds are flats and most building are wheel chair accessible. Cost of the entry is $17.95 for seniors, lunch is in addition and on your own. Please let Brian Narveson know by Monday June 9th if you are planning on attending, so he can arrange enough transportation. We will leave the church at 8:30AM on Thursday June 12th, we should be back at the church by 5:30PM.

Keeping with the circus theme our potluck in June will once again feature our own stories and experiences. I am sure we all have very memorable experiences from our first visit to the circus or a special circus we experienced. We look forwarding to hearing these heart warming stories. Did anybody sneak in under the tent? Our potluck for June will be Wednesday, June 18th at noon in the narthex. We look forward to seeing everyone there.
