OWLs Fly to Lanesboro for Theater

  • Commonweal Theatre 208 Parkway Ave N Lanesboro, MN, 55949 United States (map)

In August the OWLs (our Older Wiser Lutherans at First, for anyone 55+) will do our traditional outing to the Commonweal Theatre in Lanesboro, Minnesota. We will be seeing a production of the well know classic play and book “Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” written by Robert Louis Stevenson. We will venture to the fog-bound streets of London where Dr. Henry Jekyll conducts mysterious experiments that unleash a shadow self—Edward Hyde. He is an eerily endearing brute who’s unafraid to act on his desires. Commonweal favorite Jeffrey Hatcher reimagines this thrilling classic that surges with suspense and wicked wit. We will venture to Lanesboro on Thursday, August 31 for a preview performance (lower price). Cost of ticket is $26.75. Before the theatre we will have dinner at a local restaurant, dinner is on your own. We will meet at the church at 3:45pm on Thursday, August 31 for a beautiful drive along the Root River to Lanesboro. If you would like to participate in the wonderful evening please call or email Brian Narveson at 630.816.5917 or owls@firstlu.org before Tuesday August 29.

The OWLs are a group at First that welcomes anyone, First Lutheran members or not, who are 55+. For information or to ask questions, contact Brian Narveson at owls@firstlu.org.
