First Teen Clothes Closet Update for December 2015

Anyone who has teens (or works with teens, or has even just driven past a high school or middle school lately) knows that no matter how cold it is, they avoid wearing winter coats. Instead, they want sweatshirts and hoodies—either pullover or zip-up.

So as you are cleaning closets getting ready for the holidays, please think about donating any hoodies, sweatshirts or jackets you think teens would like. No monogrammed names, please, though team or school logos are OK. We need them for both boys and girls.

Winter boots are another need now, both men’s and women’s styles.

Toiletries are also a welcome donation: deodorant, shampoo, soap, toothpaste and toothbrushes and feminine hygiene products. The closet could also use large, sturdy shopping bags, as clients typically are given several items during a visit.

Donations may be left in the shopping cart to the right of the main doors into the narthex.

As we have spread word about the First Teen Clothes Closet additional volunteers are needed as appointment hosts. If you are interested in learning more, contact Bridget Crave, Lori Lunney or the church office.
