SERVE @ Worship

It takes the church community to help with all the different aspects of worship—making certain worship is welcoming and runs smoothly. TODAY is the best day to sign up for May, so that we have time to prepare our worship calendar and create reminders. Adults and youth are welcome and can serve in many ways:

  • Acolytes
  • Coffee servers
  • Communion servers
  • Nursery helpers
  • Puppet volunteers
  • Ushers
  • Treat providers

Sign up right now on your device at 1stlu.org/serve or use the tablet at the Welcome Center and see Kathryn Pedretti, our Director of Hospitality, with any questions.

Join Us!

By choosing to become a member, individuals and families commit to being part of a shared mission — and in one way, answer Jesus’ call to “come follow me.” We get to know you and can more easily provide you with ministry opportunities and invitations to offer your gifts to the rest of this family of faith. People who would like to become members of First Lutheran are invited to a three-week introduction to the church, presented in a small-group setting. The group will meet on these days: April 30, May 7 & May 11. Please call the church office at 608.783.2236 to sign up.

Mabel Anderson Scholarship

Applications are available. Completed applications are due no later than 11:30am on Sunday, April 30. Students may apply if they will graduate from high school in the spring and have plans to pursue post-secondary education. The application includes writing an essay and completing a worksheet that reflects the student’s involvement in church activities. Application forms are available at 1stlu.org/scholarship, or in the church office during office hours, M-F 8am-4pm.

Frolic!

This group is for parents/guardians and their children ages birth to 3 years old, and meets the last Sunday, at 9:15am in room 102. We sing, dance, play and pray together to learn ways to raise our little Christians in the home. We have time with the kids and time with just the adults. During the adult time, we have volunteers come in and play with our children as we talk. We welcome newcomers all the time — join us!

CAN YOU HELP a seminary student and his family?

Drew is in his first year at Wartburg Theological Seminary in Dubuque. This summer, he will be in La Crosse while doing his clinical pastoral education in one of the hospitals. Drew and his family (wife and 2 children) need housing from the end of May through the first half of August and would be very grateful for some assistance in finding a place. If you have any leads or can provide housing yourself, please contact him at drewsky100@gmail.com or 605.690.8332. Thank you!
