Assist with Worship!
It takes the church community to help with all the different aspects of worship—making certain worship is welcoming and runs smoothly. TODAY is the best day to sign up for August, so that we have time to prepare our worship calendar and create reminders. Adults and youth are welcome and can serve in many ways:
- Acolytes
- Coffee servers
- Communion servers
- Nursery attendants
- Ushers
- Treat providers
Sign up today at the Connecting Point and see Kathryn Pedretti, our Director of Servant Ministries, with any questions.
Flowers in the sanctuary are from Deb Koenig, in memory of her mother’s birthday.
Little LEAPs
This group is for parents/guardians and their children ages birth to 3 years old, and meets the last Sunday, at 9:15am in room 102. We sing, dance, play, and pray together to learn ways to raise our little Christians in the home. We have time with the kids and time with just the adults. During the adult time, we have volunteers come in and play with our children as we talk. We welcome newcomers all the time—join us! If you are interested in becoming a volunteer who helps our children during adult time, please contact Carla Stanton, carla@firstlu.org.
Prayers for All On The Mission Trip
Please keep in your prayers the middle school youth and chaperons who are heading to Louisville, KY, for a week of service. We pray to God for safe travels and open hearts willing to serve.
COME FOR SUPPER
First Lutheran is assisting with Come for Supper on Tuesday, July 28, at Our Savior’s in La Crosse. First Lutheran will help with food donations and volunteering to serve and clean up. The sign-up sheets are on the Connecting Point table. Call Gloria Kubiak if you have questions, 608.498.2762.

Baptismal Preparation
A baptism preparation session will be held Saturday, August 1, at 10am in the narthex for anyone who is considering or has scheduled a baptism. To register or ask questions, contact the church office: 608.783.2236 / office@firstlu.org.
Nurse/Doctor Needed
Sugar Creek Bible Camp is looking for a volunteer nurse or doctor the week of August 2–7 (Sunday at noon through Friday at approximately 2pm). They are short that week and need someone. The nurse or doctor can bring their family along free for the week; and if there is room in cabin groups, they can even place their children (or grandchild) in our programs. OWLs
On Wed., August 5, the OWLs, a group for those 55+, will have their next potluck at noon in the narthex. The program will be Cody Rickway from Thrivent who will talk about fraud protection and prevention. Contact Brian Narveson at owls@firslu.org with any questions.

Dakota Road in Concert!
Larry Olson & Hans Peterson of Dakota Road return to First for a free, outdoor concert on Saturday, August 29, at 6pm. Nationally known for their stirring music and playful performance, Larry and Hans’ songs range from sacred to silly and touch people of all ages and walks of life. The concert is free and open to the public, all ages welcome! Save the date and invite EVERYONE!
First Fest!
First Fest is early this year! We will gather together for food, fun and fellowship on Sunday, August 30 after worship. Save the date!

NEW MEMBER SESSIONS
First Lutheran welcomes all people to participate in Christ’s mission through our ministries, worship and programs, whether you are a member or not. Membership does, however, benefit our congregation. If you’re a member, we know your contact information, can more easily provide you with ministry opportunities and invite you to offer your gifts to the rest of this family of faith. The next new member session will be Sunday, September 27, with new member Sunday on October 4. Children are welcome to be present.
